Would a FWB friend with benefits do this ??? i am confused !!!?

i have this friend and have been seeing him in the fwb situation for months now. we get on really well which helps a lot lol but some things have started to make me think now. we have both said that there is too much going on our lives to have a relationship so we both know where we stand. the other day my friend saw him on a chat site that we are all one saying he's looking for an honest woman so she asked him outright. i'm not a kid i'm 30 odd year woman just so you know! i called him to say sorry for her outburst to which he said i'm not looking for anything and i put that on there to stop some weirdo woman keep sending him messages and changed his entire profile as he did not want to hurt me. when he comes over we do the obvious but it's not just that... he'll talk for hours about all sorts, problems, life have a laugh etc. just lately he has wanted me to be more tactile as well, before it was just sex and that was it. i will stroke his back or arm (he likes it apparently) but he has now taken to for example... placing his hand on my leg say and holding it. i know i'm not in the right mind set to have a relationship and he has said the same thing. i'm just confused by him at the moment. i mean in the beginning it was just sex but he has been and got things to use during sex and the sex has also much more than wham bam thank you mam. i mean he will NOT just turn up do it and then go as he says that is not a nice thing to do. god knows what is going so any advice or help will be greatly appreciated thank you
