How come metal doesn't sound like it did in the 80s....?

I mean in the 80s it was fresh, and new. Iron Maiden (Dickinson only) was such a legend. Metal in the 80s was so much more brootal than today's garbage. How come nobody plays like Motorhead or Wham! anymore?
