What to do about this girl?

Okay so a few days ago me and my girlfriend broke up. I went to a party and met this girl the next day and I hooked up with her and got her number and started texting her and it turns out it was thefirsttime she had made out or anything and she said she wanted to hangout again and she had a lot of fun. The next day there was another party and we both went and I tried go like put my arm arm around her and she kinda rejected me. So afterward I texted her and was like askin if she was mad at mw or something and it turns out people were telling her me and my gf were just taking a break and not to get involved with me. I told her it wasn't true and as ended up apologizing but idk if I should text her or what
